Spring 7v7 (K-6th)

Continue football between fall seasons

Learn the game and continue to fine-tune skills for fall all while having fun and competing. Sprint 7v7 provides a focuses on the offensive passing game and defensive coverages.

Important Info - 2025

Registration ($150) Open to Grades K - 6th Grades
4 Week Season (Games on Sundays 11am+) First Game - March 23rd (no games on Easter)
8 Game Regular Season 2 Games each Sunday
Game Locations (K1st-2nd) Old Texan or Lesley Field
Game Locations (3rd-6th) Byron Nelson High School or Medlin Middle School
Practice Locations Public access to GCISD Turf fields or City Parks
Tournament April 27th and May 4th

NTFL 7on7 Season Details

Regular Season  (K1 - 2nd at Old Texan or Lesley Field, 3rd - 6th Byron/Medlin)

  • Sunday, March 23rd
    • Each team will play 2 games
  • Sunday, March 30th
    • Each team will play 2 games
  • Sunday, April 6th
    • Each team will play 2 games
  • Sunday, April 13th 
    • Each team will play 2 games

Make-up Day will be Easter, 4/20 (obviously we hope that we will not be using this date)

Playoffs (K1 - 2nd at Old Texan or Lesley Field, 3rd - 6th Byron/Medlin)

  • Sunday, April 27th

Championships (ALL games at Old Texan)

  • Sunday, May 4th

GOALS FOR SPRING 7 on 7

Learning:

  • Spring 7v7 offers a chance to teach the basics (for new players) or go back to the basics (for experienced players)
  • Basic offensive and defensive terms and schemes
  • Proper footwork (passing, running, leverage, alignment etc.)
  • Basics of catching and securing a football

As well as: 

  • Gaining agility and overall athleticism
  • Offseason physical activity
  • Being part of the team!
  • Gaining friendships with other players

Modifications: 

  • Running the football is limited to only K1st and 2nd Grade divisions, which puts an emphasis on throwing and catching
  • A Coach Quarterback (QB) is allowed in the K-1st division allowing for a more consistent experience as players develop their skills
  • Starting in 2nd Grade, there is no coach QB. Players begin to understand the basics of the QB position.
    • Throwing to a moving receiver
    • Reading defenses
    • Progressions and timing (as they get older)
